Happy New Year & Album Sneak Preview
Happy New Year! I hope you've all had a good start to 2012. I'm excited to say that the new album is progressing well - thanks so much to Robin and Sing Sing Studios for making it such a smooth process. Recording completed... new album on the way!
What a way to end the year! We finished recording all the material for the next album on Wednesday night, after four intensely productive days at Sing Sing Studios. The new material features the NPCO with some very special guests including singers from Ensemble Gombert, vibraphonist Craig Beard, flautist Laila Engel and more (I'll save some surprises)! Thank you to everyone who was involved in the recording.
I was fortunate enough to be playing Yamaha's favourite new addition to their family - the brand new CFX 9 foot Concert Grand Piano! It became my new best friend and was very difficult to say goodbye to. I can't wait for you all to hear how it sounds - I have never played or heard a more perfect piano. A huge thank you to the lovely team at Yamaha for their generous support in loaning the CFX for the recording.
We'll be taking a short break before mixing and mastering the tracks early in the New Year, and will hopefully have a release date soon after.
